Bud, Please Do Something Right For Once

I can't believe that the greatest story in offseason history is going on during my final exams. I just don't have time to address this in depth, but I will say that I think that worst case scenario will be Bud Selig will stepping in and approving the deal and that this will become the biggest thing in owner-union relationships since Curt Flood.

Bud will/should do it, the arbitrator will find AGAINST the Union, and the Player's Union will rightfully be knocked down a notch.

Oh, that and A-Rod will come to Boston.

Before I get back to studying, I'm going to dance.

Dance, dance, dance.

I call it the A-Rod dance.

I Don't Believe in Curses

Should Arod wear number 3 in Boston?

I think so. Just seems all too fitting.

Busy Busy

Sorry about the lack of updates, but school has kept me very busy as of late. Hopefully in the next few days I will get a good entry in. A few quick points:

---Pete Carroll is one of the best coaches in college football.

Think about that Patriots fans.

Too bad the best team isn't playing for the National Championship. What a joke of enormous proportions.

---Nomar wants to stay in Boston? Why didn't he say that at ANY point last year? Regardless, I feel bad for him. In spite of everything (including me supporting Arod coming here), I'll miss Nomar if he leaves.

---The Patriots are the best team in football. Period. Since there is nothing to complain about with them, let me just say that I am not a fan of those silver jerseys that they are now 2-0 in. Damn, still couldn't complain right.

---Danny Ainge. That's working out well. I thinl last time I checked Antoine was averaging 57 points a game, 28 rebounds, and 17 assists. (Those numbers might be slightly exaggerated.)

---I watch the Bruins constantly. I'll write about them eventually. I love hockey and even I admit it doesn't matter yet. Check back in March.

It'll Probably Be Top 5

I am thinking of doing some end of the year lists. Yes, yes I AM well aware that everyone and everything does an end of the year list, but there is a reason for it: it's easy. Well, not easy as in you don't need to put in any effort or thought, but easy as in it is an established article that allows you to touch upon many topics and generate interest and conversation.

These types of articles are common. Examples include articles such as "The Open Letter" and "Thoughts While.....". It is hard to write about sports everyday, especially when you don't have anything to say. So although this method of recycling column themes and models is cliche and kind of lazy, it is understandable.

Anyway, end of the year. I figure I will write the more common ones such as "Athlete of the Year," "Game of the Year," "Moment of the Year," "Team of the Year," and anything else people suggest. Ah yes, there is the rub. I'd like for people to give me some suggestions on lists they'd like to see. Everything from the topical to the irreverant to the inane. Offbeat, funny ideas will be highly regarded. I just want to shake this whole thing up, and hopefully beat ESPN's Page 2 to the punch when I can.

So, start thinking them up and I will start writing them.

(Note: A Top Ten Dan Shaughnessy's most upbeat articles Lists is NOT possible, so don't suggest it. Neither is Michael Felger's Ten Best Articles."
